There is a red, yellow, and green circle on the top left of the window, but the red closes the screen, the yellow minimizes it, and the green makes it smaller.

Everything works fine but I don't want to leave my computer on all the time...I want it to go to sleep when left idle for a while but the computer keeps running. What can I do about this? I have played around with the energy saving settings a bit but they don't really do anything when the lid is closed and I am using the external monitor.

I have a friend who recently got a new MacBook.
As she wants to copy over the files on that MacBook to her new, she borrowed her son's firewirecable.
Now, how does she start the new MacBook so the older one shows up as a external drive?
We think she should boot it up and press P until it has started.
We just want to make sure.
