I just want to know if the macbook pro 13" would work well for school work and web surfing etc. Is this a sufficient screen size? And also I have the same question for the sony vaio e series (the ea or the eb)

I just got the macbook pro 13 for college, to me its a good enough size to use and a good size to walk with. You should go to a apple or best buy store to try it out.
listen, i just bought my macbook pro 13" in march and it is AWESOME i got the 4gb model and it is awesome, i highly recommend this over any PC! you can often get free software from your school, msdnaa or e-hub, and can possibly get vmware fusion and a copy of windows 7, JUST in case you need to run some windows program, i personally bought parallels, and it runs in concurrence mode, meaning you can open any windows program from you mac, and it starts the "virtual machine" it is really pretty cool and i love it. plus iWork is SOOOO much better and CHEAPER than windows microsoft office. the 13" will DEFINITELY be sufficient, i do web design and photo editing on it all the time! you will love it! get the mac, the aluminum body is awesome and every thing just works soooo much better on a mac! dont get a PC
