13″ MacBook and 13″ MacBook Pro: what’s the difference between the ?
Is it worth the extra few hundred pounds? As a design graduate who has ALWAYS had an iBook G4 opposed to a PowerBook, I've never had a problem completing design briefs.
As you noticed on the apple site, the regular macbook uses the same processor and amount of RAM as the pro- but costs much less. The difference is mainly the graphics processor and cache speed. With the regular macbook, it has an integrated graphics processor- meaning all the graphics are done with the main CPU, so if you’re doing graphics intense work such as photo or video editing- just displaying the items eats a huge chunk of processing power. The Pro adds an outboard graphics processor to eliminate this.
A regular macbook should be fine for mild photoshop and illustrator- but if you ever need to do video- get the pro.
Yes, it is worth spending the extra few hundred pounds. But the question is do you need that power. The main things you get over the macbook are better build design, faster processor, faster memory and better battery.
Yea get the pro. I have it and I love it. You won’t regret dropping the extra few hundred.

The pro has a faster chip, more memory and cache.
