sony makes good laptops, however I will tell you this much, I owned a white macbook last year, I sold it because I found it to be too simple, with that money I bought a laptop by dell from bestbuy, which is superior in specs but gives me a bunch of problems.. Im not an apple "fanboy" but macbooks are trending very fast for a reason, and that is reliability! they boot up in only about 10 seconds or less, you never get any errors or viruses! and that is great news! 98% of viruses are written for windows operating systems.. I owned a macbook for 6 months and never got a virus, even tho I went to dangerous malware infested web sites.
Also another thing to consider, they look great and stylish! and at any point if you cannot live without windows you can insall windows on a macbook, So you can have 2 operating systems, you can switch from one to another!
I truly regret selling my macbook!
I would suggest you buy a macbook pro 15, it has a good graphic card option, but if you are not going to be playing video games or editing videos then white unibody will be more than enough!
