Hi, I just bought a new macbook today 
and would like to overclock it. Is there a way to overclock it?

You can overclock it,yes.
Just like you would overclock any other computer. The hardware in it is not different just because it is made my apple.
The only over clocking tool out there right now is the ZDnet Clock tool. This only works on MacPro and Xserve systems though. I can’t find any evidence of updating it for laptop lines.
Macs don’t have an accessible bios menu so you can’t over clock it using the bios like the other poster suggested (which you can do on PCs). The only form of over clock I’ve read about on a MBP was someone who installed Windows on it and then used a Windows software tool to over clock for Windows. But it didn’t do anything for OS X.
I do not recommend overclocking laptops especially Macbooks. They run extremely hot under stock settings and with an overclock you could kill the macbook in under 6 months and possible void your warranty at the same time.
