Not at all , li-ion batteries have no memory effect (But NiMH have ),Just reducing charging time to extend battery lifespan for li-ion batteries have limited recycles.
The battery will have a full charge on it, but I’d suggest using it on the power adaptor the first time. That way the battery will get a charge if it lost any in shipping.
It’s probably smart to wait and charge it first. The first charge determines the battery charge for the rest of its life. You should always charge electronics fully before using them when you buy them.
