I'll be getting a macbook air next week but I'm not yet sure which one. I'm buying the 1st gen, 1.6/80gb, because it's cheaper now.
I was looking at a second hand, 10 month old one. It has applecare til Feb 2011, 2 cases, an unused superdrive and a bunch of unused cords and adapters. It costs the same as a brand new 1st gen.
Is this a good deal primarily because of applecare? Or should I get a new one and just buy the accessories? Thanks!

2nd hand would be fine if you are getting it from Apple refurbished. If you are getting it from ebay – make sure the seller includes the installation disk with it (vital for password recovery)
The newer one should be slightly faster – just depends what your preferences are.
Depends on whether your going to using these accessories or not, if you are and the computer is exactly the same as the new computer buy the used machine but if the new machine is better and you won’t be using all the cables buy the new computer and only buy the cables you’ll need.
If you opt for the one with AC be sure it’s transferable to you. Why is he getting rid of it? If you buy new get the AC. Apple Website sells Refurbs with a great warranty. Your call. Never buy a Mac from eBay.
