No….why would I care what laptop you had? If your buying a laptop just to use as a status symbol that's pretty pathetic. In my mind that's a common reason why people buy a Macbook, just because they can say they have one.
Macbook Air is really not practical, it lacks an optical drive, and lacks enough peripheral ports.
