White unibody MacBook 2.26GHz or Pro 2.53GHz for video?
I really want a mac. Because I am going to be going into the video editing field quite a bit, i figured i would need quite a powerful machine. I am probably gonna buy final cut express along with the computer but am still tossing up with which one i should buy. If i where to get the white unibody 13" macbook, i am planning on upgrading the ram to 4gb and the harddrive 500gb. Or should i spend the extra money on a macbook pro, with a 2.53 ghz processer, that comes with 4 giggs of ram and a 250 gig hard drive. What would suit me better, and what would run final cut express better?
Thanks in advance!

Apple 17" MacBook Pro 2.8 8GB 500GB 7200 rpm 3 yr app

I run Final Cut Express on my MacBook Pro 15" with no issues at all.

Save a few bucks, do not order extra RAM from Apple, get that from an electronics store like Fry’s. You will save some cash that way.
If your going to be doing lots of video editing you might want the pro. The pro (not the 13" pro) comes with two graphics cards (as opposed to macbook’s one) and a firewire port for faster data transfer. It also comes with a express 3/4 card slot for expansion.
Macdude is right. Go with the MacBook Pro and if you can afford it, get a 15" or 17". It’s easier on the eyes.
From a Video editor to another: last year i started video production. I was given from my graduation present from the 8th grade a 2.4 GHZ iMac 20′ with 1GB ram and 250 GB hard drive, and Final Cut Express. ?ut at my school we started learning with Final Cut Studio, which i figure out is much much easier to work with than express. Now, a year later, i Have an iMac, a Macbook Pro 15′ 500GB HD 3.06 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo and 8GB RAM and Final Cut Pro Box set. and Photoshop CS4 extended to top it all off. The thing is, In my video life, Final cut pro Has a wide extent of tools but they are are tucked away in secret locations which requires you to be indiana jones and go out and find them. I honestly prefer Sony Vegas 8.0 because all the tools are staring at you in the face. The visual tools are much more realistic and the audio editing doesn’t require you to go to logic Studio to perfect the audio. I do use Final Cut Pro at school, but i use sony vegas for personal projects. and i was able to buy Sony Vegas 7.0 Box set with a Dell tower [700 GB HD, 2.93 GHZ 7 GB RAM] 27′ monitor and BOSE speakers for under $2000. To answer you question. 2.53 GHZ with 250 GB. the truth about big hard drives is it takes a longer time to send the signal because theres too much room in the data banks. but i would go with the DELL+ Sony Vegas solution
