Why would you buy a Macbook air?

My dad wants to get me a laptop..and I can basically get anyone I want. The thinness of the Macbook air really impreses me...i'm always complaining that my laptop is heavy. What are some good reasons why I should get the Macbook air?....Mac fans anywhere...
It doesn't have a built in CD drive?

The MacBook Air is best suited to execs or traveling sales people.

Students would be better suited to getting the MacBook as it has a bigger hard drive meaning you don't need to carry an additional portable one and the MacBook is only $1099 vs $1799 for the MacBook Air.
The biggest capacity MacBook is the 13" Black at $1499 with a 160GB Hard drive

The MacBook Air does its back ups wirelessly to the external HD.
